Fifteen Served, Eight Perfect: Kreimann Answers Back in the Los Altos Rematch

A week after a four-pass night that got away from her, Alta Loma's No. 4 took a season-high 15 serves in a single match and passed them at a 2.13 — eight perfect, one error.

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. · October 7, 2026

The question after San Dimas was what Kayla Kreimann would do the next time the serve came looking for her. Los Altos answered it for her: they kept sending it.

Alta Loma's freshman took 15 serve-receive attempts Wednesday night at home, the most she has handled in any single match this season, as the Lions fell to Los Altos 2–1 in a three-set rematch. HUDL graded the night a 2.13 on the 3.0 scale. Eight of the 15 were perfect passes — 53 percent — and 10 of the 15 kept the Lions in system. One was an error.

Fifteen serves came her way. Eight went back to the setter perfect.

The bounce-back

Seven days earlier, at San Dimas on Sept. 30, Kreimann saw four serves and passed one of them cleanly — a 0.75 that was the lowest single-match number of her season. Wednesday's line is the reply: nearly four times the volume, one error instead of three, and a rating that pushed her season mark back over 2.00 — from 1.99 to 2.01 on 117 attempts.

The volume is the part a coach will notice first. Before late September, Kreimann averaged fewer than five receive attempts a match from the back row. She has now taken 13, 13 and 15 in three of her last four matches, and the per-ball quality has held at the higher load: 2.00, 2.15 and 2.13 in those three.

The rest of the line

At the service line it was a working night rather than a weapon night: seven serves, five in, one ace and two errors — her 23rd ace of the season. She added two digs and handled five second-ball sets without a ball-handling error, and took five free-ball receptions.

The season, through 19 matches

Through 19 matches and 39 sets, Kreimann is passing a 2.01 on 117 attempts — 49 percent perfect, 66 percent in system, 16 errors. She has 23 aces on 124 serves (90 percent in play), 67 digs with no dig errors, and 30 out-of-system setting attempts without an error.
